“Don’t Put Woolies Dog to Sleep!”
As the newly elected US president pontificates about one of his earliest White House pledges - to adopt a shelter dog - the UK’s leading dog adoption service has offered a second chance to the canine mascot of recently demised store, Woolworths.
‘Worth’ is the talking canine who appeared in Woolworths TV and marketing campaigns alongside celebrities such as Rolf Harris.
The UK’s leading dog adoption service, DogsBlog.com, has steped in to try and make sure this is one ‘asset’ that doesn’t get discarded along with the Pic ‘n’ Mix as Woolies’ closes its doors all over the UK.
The publishers of the site have opened discussions with the adminstrators of Woolworths - Deloitte - with a view to giving a ‘new home’ to the former mascot, offering to install ‘Worth’ as the new, permanent face of the website - which has rehomed nearly 4,000 shelter dogs since [...]
