The SSPCA, Scotland’s animal welfare charity, is appealing for help after the discovery of a dead dog and a seriously under nourished one was discovered on a beach in Aberdeen.
The two dogs, young Staffordshire Bull Terrier bitches, were discovered on Monday of this week.
The emaciated one is now recovering at an animal shelter.
One was dead and the other – now recovering at an animal home – was extremely emaciated.
Scottish SPCA inspector Alison Simpson told BBC Scotland of the survivor: “The dog was emaciated with no sort of body weight.
“It takes quite a long time for a dog to get into a condition like that.”
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Scottish SPCA on 03000 999 999.
It is suspected the dead dog could have been killed by a vehicle so motorists could also have useful information.
