Following yesterday’s announcement from the Kennel Club outlawing incest for the first time in its history and proposing changes to several breed standards, secretary Caroline Kisko has also revealed the organisation is actively seeking a new broadcast partner for its flagship dog show, Crufts.
Mrs Kisko is quoted in The Telegraph:
“We said in the autumn that a new review standards would be bought out, long before the BBC pulled out of Crufts. As far as we’re concerned, we’re looking for different broadcasters. We’re currently under BBC contract, whether they choose to broadcast for the next year or not.”
The BBC themselves were not so sure of Crufts leaving its schedules though, a spokesman saying:
“We remain open to the idea that Crufts will return to the BBC and this (changes to breed standards) is an [...]
