Dog Growling – Became Constant

I have a west highland white who is 4 years old now.

My dog used to have the tendency to growl at me, especially when i went close to its food.

It now growls very often when I go to stroke it, sometimes it doesn’t, but even with a stern telling it off it just growls, tenses up and warns me off. It has never once bitten me or anyone, but sometimes gives the action off that it will.

How can I stop this from happening, I don’t go near its food.

Even when it hears me get in from work it runs to its basket and guards its food until its all gone, this can last for hours!

I’m not aware of me ever being on my hands and knees and eating my dogs food!

Help 🙂
