Dog Warden Website is Launched

Submitted by admin on September 9, 2009 – 10:39 amNo Comment

A website that advises residents of Hampshire who to contact if they lose or find a dog has been launched by the Dog Warden Group that represents all 14 Local Authorities in Hampshire.

The website created by the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Dog Warden Group gives information on how to contact your local Dog Warden and also advises on general points such as who to contact and what to do should you lose or find a dog.

‘Many people in Hampshire still seem to think that they should contact the Police if they lose or find a dog’ said Dave Griffiths of East Hampshire District Council, ‘what they actually need to do is contact the Dog Warden in the area where they found or lost the dog as a matter of urgency as the police no longer have any dealings with lost or found dogs’’ he continued.

There is also information for other dog related issues and problems on the site such as dog theft and if dogs are causing nuisance.

The website can be accessed at www.dogwardenshants.co.uk and provides contact details for all 14 Dog Warden Services within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
