Dachshund Arthritis

My oldest male has recently experienced arthritis for the firs time. Unfortunately over the past couple of weeks It’s gotten much worst and he no longer meets me at the door whenever I get home from work and it breaks my heart. =(
I know It’s normal for dachshunds to have back problems, but the pain seems to be stemming from his hind legs. I’ve scheduled an appointment for the vet this Friday and was wondering if anyone had any advice on what kind of therapies I should ask about.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just want him to feel like his old self. =(
